This packing is also known as stack packing or duct & rubber. This packing has a male, female, and a series of intermediate rings(V-rings), which can be manufactured from different materials or a combination of different materials making a set. These sets have to be compressed in housing for the seal to operate. Sets can be supplied in an endless or split design. They are normally supplied from molded rubber & fabric but can also be supplied in all rubber, Teflon, and urethane. Chevron packing can be supplied in different compounds for applications.
